
Ron was born in Albany, Missouri, on April 5, 1932. He attended grade school in Albany and moved to Stanberry, Missouri where he graduated from high school in 1950. In that year, he visited Columbia, Missouri, with the intent of signing up at the University of Missouri and eventually moving up to the exalted title of a "Mizzou Tiger". He met a rather persuasive recruiting sergeant and enlisted in the Air Force instead.
Ron was sent to Paris, France, and assigned as an aircraft mechanic on a B-26 for a short time and then became the gunner in the rear fuselage of th airplane. Ron finished his enlistment and at the end of the Korean War, he was shipped home.
Ron went to work for the Boeing Aircraft Company as a draftsman and then advanced to an art editor. He met and married Sonia Threepersons and was later blessed with two girls and a boy. He attended Wichita University majoring in Electrical Engineering. He became an electrical engineer in the publications department at Boeing and then moved into management and spent 40 years with Boeing retiring in 1992. He then went to work for the Valley Center Police Department as a Detective. He retired again in 2009. Says he hasn't worked a day since.
